The Boomer Timeslip

It's come up many times in conversation, and I just want to make a record of it for future reference, without making a big-ass article about it and the many socio-political reasons it pisses me off.  So for the record, in modern movies and TV, the Boomer Timeslip is the pervasive, unexamined assumption that people who grew up in the 1950's and went to college (and/or Viet Nam) in the '60's are now in their thirties, and their kids are now attending elementary or high school.

Keep an eye out for it, and you'll see the Timeslip a LOT.  There's so much wrong with it that I just don't feel like going any further into the subject at this hour.

Lunch is a Many-Splendored Thing

Give a little bit...give a little bit of your lunch to me

Why do fools fall in lunch?

All you need is lunch

Some people call me Space Cowboy; some call me the Gangster of Lunch.

Both of us knowing....lunch is a battlefield

Lunch lifts us up where we belong

Tainted lunch, whoa-oh-oh, tainted lunch

I don't wanna lose your lunch tonight, I just wanna use your lunch tonight

What's lunch got to do, got to do with it?

Baby, baby, where did our lunch go?

It's strong and it's sudden, it can be cruel sometimes, but it might just save your life -- that's the power of lunch.
